LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
January 4, 2018
On behalf of the Executive Board of the National Association of Extradition Officials, I would like to invite you to our 54th Annual Training Conference in Providence, Rhode Island, from June 3 to June 6, 2018. Come join us in this culturally rich and historic state capital for another highly informative training on extradition and the Interstate Agreement on Detainers. The conference will be held in downtown Providence at the Providence Biltmore, in close proximity to great restaurants and shopping.
The conference will again primarily focus on the fundamentals of interstate extradition and the Interstate Agreement on Detainers. We have scheduled time for attendees to meet and discuss specific legal issues and practical problems relating to extradition with conference presenters, board members, and other attendees in break out sessions.
As always, this conference provides a terrific opportunity not only to learn about extradition, but also to exchange ideas, share experiences, and make valuable contacts with extradition officials from other parts of our country.
Conference registration fees will include a flash drive containing the conference presentations. There will be an annual opening reception on Sunday night to meet, greet, and reacquaint for the attendees. The hosted Gala will be held on Monday night, and hosted luncheon with the presentation of the Elvyn Holt Award on Tuesday.
If you wish to attend the NAEO’s annual extradition training conference in Providence, Rhode Island, and would be a first-time attendee from a member state, but will have difficulty securing funding to do so, the NAEO has created a limited scholarship fund available to cover the cost of registration. If you wish to apply for a registration scholarship, please visit the NAEO website at http://www.extraditionofficials.org/ under News Corner for more information and the application form. Applications must be received by April 2nd, 2018.
The tentative agenda and registration follows. If you have any questions about this year’s NAEO conference, please contact me at email@example.com.
